Sam Kallis is an artist in a family full of professional artists. She grew up knowing two things: she’s no good at math, and therefore had to also be an artist; and, she really wanted a steady paycheck. These things, as well as, you know, a deep love of storytelling, brought Sam to animation. Since graduating from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California with honors in the spring of 2010, her work has appeared in television, films, books and galleries throughout the world... which is a relief since art school (as you might have heard) is damned expensive.

Currently, Sam is hard at work cooking up new and exciting television shows as an Art Director in development for DreamWorks Television Animation. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and three cats, who eat a surprising amount considering their size. Past clients include Nickelodeon, Sony Pictures Animation, Paramount Pictures, Disney Television Animation, Penguin Random House, and pretty much anywhere else that will help toward the cost of cat food. And before you ask, yes, in the event of zombie attack she would save her cats before you.
